What is the quality of Avy Hair?

Avy Hair Extensions has the finest quality REMY human hair to add instant length and volume. This is the same amount of hair that you’d purchase in a full set of clip or bonded extensions.

REMY hair is the highest grade of human hair on the market. This is because the hair still has its outer cuticle layer and all the follicles face the same direction. This makes your Avy Hair last longer, stay shinier, feel silky, and stay tangle free.

Avy is also a double-drawn hair extension. This means that the strands are the same thickness from root to tip rather than becoming wispy at the ends. This process is very laborious, resulting in a bit higher price, but the very best quality.

What is REMY Hair?

REMY hair is not a brand, but a grading system for hair extensions. It’s considered the finest quality because, unlike non-remy hair extensions, the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped. Preserving the hairs’ cuticles and aligning them creates extensions that are completely natural in appearance, keeps them soft, and they’re less likely to tangle.

What is the difference between mono and silk toppers?

Mono toppers have a fine mesh base where each hair is hand-tied, providing a natural look and comfort. Silk toppers feature a layer of lace and silk fabric at the front, creating an ultra-realistic scalp appearance that hides hair knots completely.

How Does The Avy hair topper stay on?

Pressure-Sensitive Clips. This is probably the most common way to attach a ready-to-wear topper. You simply open the clips, slide the comb-like "teeth" into your hair and press them closed.  

When wearing a clip-in hair topper, it is crucial to select the correct base size and ensure that you are attaching it to hair that is strong enough to hold the clips without causing any further hair loss. Clipping onto hair that is too delicate or sparse can lead to hair breakage or hair loss. To increase the hold of the clips, it is recommended to apply a small amount of hair spray and gently backcomb the section of hair where the clips will be attached. This creates a slightly rough texture, providing a more secure grip for the clips.

How long will my Avy Hair Extensions last?

The lifespan of your Avy Hair extension will depend on how often you wear it and how well you take care of it. Your extensions could last up to a year or more.

For the longest life, you want to avoid excessive heat, excessive brushing, and excessive washing. Do not use any heat protectant or styling products on the Avy Hair Extension. Styling products have chemicals in them that are not meant for dead, processed hair extensions. Because of this, it is likely that these products will cause drying, damage, matting, and severe tangling. Anything you put in your own hair besides hairspray can rub off onto the extension so be mindful.

How often should I wash my extensions?

Try to wash your Avy Hair Extension only when it’s 100% necessary. You should aim to wash every 2-4 months or when you feel there is a lot of product buildup making it difficult to style. Since the hair is not attached to your scalp, it will not receive natural oils so you don’t need to wash it as often as you would your own hair. Stay away from shampoos/conditioners with sulphate and use hydrating conditioners if possible.
